gMeter 軟體能將 HTC Touch Diamond / Pro / HD 手機變成一汽車功能電腦，軟體功能透過這些手機內建的機載加速器(onboard accelerometer)發揮效用。
gMeter 透過 HTC Touch Diamond / Pro / HD 手機內建的 GPS 設備，可用於量測汽車前方與側面的 g 力量，並可計算汽車運行馬力(車輪或引擎)。所有量測數據內容，包括 g 力量 (m/s^2)、角度、GPS數據和所計算出的馬力(HP)皆可被建檔儲存供進一步處理。它也可以計算由 0 -1 00公里/小時或 0 - 60英里/小時的加速時間。在 dragster 模式，軟體可以計算從 0 - 402米或 1 / 4 英里的加速時間和馬力。此外， gMeter可以記錄 g 力量和角度的最大馬力和 g 力量的最大數值和角度，亦可以依據手機 GPS 設備所測得的經度和緯度的數值畫出 " 路線圖" 。gMeter 還可以使用使用日誌文件創建速度和馬力圖表。

gMetercan measure forward and lateral g forces and it can calculate theHorsepower of a vehicle (wheels or engine), using the device’s internalGPS. All the values, including the g-forces (m/s^2), angles, GPS dataand calculated horsepower (HP), can be saved to a log file, forfurthermore processing. It can also calculate the 0 - 100 Km/h or 0 -60 miles/h acceleration time. In dragster mode, the application cancalculate the time and the horsepower for 0 - 402 meter or 1/4 of mileacceleration. Also, the gMeter can keep the max horsepower and the maxvalues of g-forces and angles. The gMeter can draw the ‘circuit’according to the longitude and latitude values measured by the internalGPS. gMeter can also create speed and horsepower graphs using the logfiles.
Thedevice needs to be placed in a vehicle and gMeter needs to becalibrated for position, with the vehicle at rest on a level surface.
